I know I’ve said it before – but California seriously has the BEST, MOST AMAZING parks. Parks like nothing I’ve ever seen…spacious so lots of kids can play, and made with such variety that kids of all ages can be safe. While in Concord, and upon discovering there were no beaches there, we happened upon a pretty amazing *little* park that absolutely took my breath away. Even now as I am thinking about it, I am in awe. What’s so…
I’ve never seen them before. I noticed a small spot on my son’s shoulder in the change room but didn’t think too much of it, so we went on our merry way to do some swimming. Unfortunately, the kiddie portion of the pool was shut down just moments after we entered (an issue with no chemicals in the water) so our only real option was the hot tub (the main pool was pretty jam packed from all the kids moved…
It’s a tradition in my family for the aunties to write a song for every major occasion. It is always the highlight of the event and something we all look forward to. You might remember the post I shared with the video of them singing to my Uncle Bob – it was initially written when they visited him in the hospital, and then added to for Christmas when they all got to be together to celebrate. There is truly never…
As mentioned in my last post, I achieved my goal of not just wearing a bikini on holiday, but feeling comfortable in it. I felt comfortable to begin with, but what was so awesome to realize once we got to our resort was that NOBODY CARES!!!! There are all body types in one pieces, bikinis, tankinis, and speedos….and everyone is there to enjoy themselves…nobody cares! And for once in my life I didn’t either. I haven’t worn a bikini since…
You might recall that on my last measurements post I had lot 7 1/4″ from my previous measuring 8 months prior. That was March 8th…and now, April 2 I have taken a new set of measurements to document my progress. I did have some help in the form of the nastiest sickness I have ever had. One that left me flat on my back for almost an entire week…unable to eat anything or really function at all. As a result…
Well we left Roseville to make our way to Novato for the night. On our way we saw so many gorgeous wineries and vineyards….absolutely beautiful. We must go back when the grapes are in full season – I can only imagine the vineyards then!!! Not being wine/alcohol drinkers I have decided though that it would be awesome to be able to do a *grape juice tasting tour* – seriously, how fun!! And while we’re there, we wouldn’t mind moving in…
Our next stop was Roseville! It was another long day of driving, with kids that hardly slept AND another time change. We had just gone through one at home taking us an hour back and now just a couple weeks later were being pushed another hour back. So our lovely children were getting up at 6 AM instead of 8 am like we’re used to and hoping for. It was brutal! Add to that, being a bit overtired and over-travelled…
I often find myself reflecting on the many great people in my life. Considering why our lives have crossed paths and what things I could and should learn from our interactions. And I am constantly inspired and motivated by those around me. One such person is my friend, Nicole Wagner. I first met Nicole 6 year ago on an online parenting forum. I knew right away that she was someone I wanted to be good friends with. She’s kind, honest,…
Finishing up our stop in Utah, we headed on our way to California. First Stop: Sacramento! On our way – we made a stop to fill up with gas….actually what’s so humorous about that is we were pretty negligent with it – I’m surprised we never ran out….one of us would have a brain wave all of a sudden and upon looking at the gas gauge would realize we were almost empty. oops. Anyways – I’m so glad to have…
