Spot It! *Review*

I love learning about a new game. Even better, when that game is something we can do with our kids. I was thrilled when I was offered the opportunity to review a game called *Spot It!*and couldn’t wait for it to arrive.

The basic idea….55 cards are filled with 8 images in various sizes. Each card has one (and only one) symbol in common with every other card. Your job is to find the common link. Easy enough right? Well, you’d think, but I can’t tell you the amount of times me or one of the kids has sat for a minute certain there was NOTHING in common (which of course there is).

What I love about this game is it’s fun and interesting enough for older kids, but simple enough for preschoolers and something they can do together. This is truly a FAMILY game and our kids love it! In addition, the game comes with about 4 other variations to play, making it faster and more challenging. SO much fun!

And at under $13, Spot It! is great for birthday gifts, stocking stuffers, just because gifts, and offers the opportunity to really spend some time making memories and having fun! Take Spot It! with you to the grocery store, doctor’s office, funerals, weddings, long car or airplane rides, or any other time when you are hoping for a bit of peace and quiet!

A simple game of *matching* has been reinvented and proven itself as a fun game for all ages. In 2010 Spot It! was a Toy of the Year Nominee, awarded the Gold Award from the Parents Choice Foundation and ASTRA Best Toy for Kids. It was also the NAPPA Gold Award Winner for  *Best Bang for your Buck*, listed in *The Twelve Toys of Christmas* from Learning Express, and given Best Toy Award Gold Seal from Oppenheim Toy Portfolio. Dr. Toy included Spot It! in their 10 Best Games and Best Vacation Children’s Products lists for 2010 and it was given the Top Seller and Major Fun Awards from TD monthly. In addition, Spot It! was given the Children’s Choice Award in 2008 from the Canadian Toy Testing Council and the  Seal of Approval from The National Parenting Center in 2010.

In case you weren’t sure, Spot It! also gets the 2011 Cute Like Me Seal of Approval. This is a great, easy, and easily transportable game that I think is worth adding to the collection.
