Honeyed Ham Glaze

I’ve made this several times now (and probably blogged it too, but I can’t remember) and every time I am in love all over again. It’s SO delicious! It works on small boneless hams and larger bone-in hams. I followed the recipe from allrecipes exactly as shown – and it was perfect! Here you go: 1 cup honey 1/2 cup ketchup 1/4 cup yellow mustard 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 1 tablespoon dried minced onion (I used fresh) 1/4 teaspoon ground…

The Gluten Free Lifestyle *Kellogg’s Rice Krispies*

On our recent trip to the Condo in Whitefish, while grocery shopping I came upon a most fabulous discovery. This summer proved to be a complete *failure* when it came to eating Gluten Free…and yes, I can tell. LOL  But even still, my *gluten free product* radar is in high gear. I love seeing products and companies that accomodate such dietary restrictions; It seriously makes me happy. It’s quite possible that after seeing these Kellogg’s Rice Krispies in Walmart that…

Chicken Lettuce Wraps *So Delish*

photo from kitcheningwithcarly.com One of my all time favorite *eat out* meals is the Chicken Lettuce Wraps from Joey Restaurants. They are so delicious and always hit the spot. I don’t live near one so don’t get them often, but trust me when I say it’s one of the first things I plan for when my travels take me nearby. I LOVE THEM! Recently a friend of mine posted a photo of some lettuce wraps her friend had made…and she…

My Pinterest *Summer BBQ Ideas*

Just because summer is coming to a close (at least for us Canadians, unless we are blessed with a repeat of last year’s fabulous fall), it doesn’t mean that BBQ’s have to end too. We love having friends over and just relaxing in the yard while the kids play. Ours are usually pretty low key and relaxed, but I have big plans of doing an all out *bbq party* with all the fun details. Pinterest has helped give me a…

My Pinterest *Kids Birthday Cakes*

I love making homemade cakes for our kids birthdays…though it seems that every other year they flop (oh there’ve been some doozies lol). I think my biggest problem in those years is overdoing the expectation. What I see in my head doesn’t always transfer well to the *cake canvas*. On Pinterest I’ve found a number of fantastic cakes that I’m certain would result in the same issue if I attempted them, but I love them all the same…and call me…

Homemade Mushroom Soup

I LOVE mushrooms. Raw (with dip), sauteed, on a burger, in a stir fry, or in soup. So years ago, when my  mom first made this recipe I was an instant fan. I LOVE mushroom soup – and love even more when I can make a dish from scratch instead of using the ever available convenience options. It’s sooo easy and hardly takes any time at all, which I know is super important in our busy lives. So, here’s what…

Chicken Pot Pie Soup

This is probably the one and only recipe I will add that I have not personally tried (YET)…the other day I posted on facebook about being able to make homemade mushroom soup for dinner as the weather had cooled down (recipe to come) and a friend of mine mentioned that she had made Chicken Pot Pie Soup for dinner. Sounds amazing, right? A few other friends expressed interest in the recipe and my dear friend (we’ve been friends since we…

Cucumber Salad

My kids LOVE when I make this for lunch or dinner. It’s quick and easy, and although it has a creamy sauce, I like to think it’s still a bit healthy. LOL Mix together: 1 cup mayonnaise 1/4 cup sugar 4 tsp vinegar 1/2 tsp dill 1/2 tsp seasoning salt Keep the dressing separate and add it to the cut up cucumbers in a separate bowl. The dressing keeps better if stored separately – otherwise the cucumbers get kinda mushy…

Corn Chip and Kidney Bean Salad

I know what you’re thinking…Corn chips and Kidney Beans?  Together? In a Salad? I realize it sounds strange, but I’m telling you people…it’s delicious! I recently had this delicious salad at a potluck dinner and was so bummed there wasn’t enough left for seconds. It was just so yummy. Planning for a potluck dinner while camping this past weekend, and having to work around only having a cooler (as opposed to a fridge..ie, we are tenters), this recipe came in…

The Gluten Free Lifestyle {Tortilla Shells}

We were having a friend over for dinner – Enchiladas have been one of my go-to meals for a long time now and since I’ve been wanting to try the gluten free tortilla shells anyways, I thought I’d stick with the usual 🙂 I made the entire pan as normal except I used the gluten free tortilla shells for 3 of the enchiladas. The verdict? The taste was great – honestly I couldn’t tell a difference between these and whole…
