While we were trying to keep costs down during this trip, we definitely had to splurge on a few things. Aquarium of the Bay seemed too good to pass up, and we were actually pleasantly surprised at the cost. Just $16.95 for Adults and $8 for children 3-11 – in my experience, places like this tend to be at least double that. So we were thrilled! And it did not disappoint. After the Aquarium we took a stroll along Pier 39 to see what else there was. Walking by the Wipeout Bar and Grill we both agreed it was time to eat. Our first hotel of the trip! We were SO excited to be in Novato/Sonoma and see all the beautiful wineries and vineyards. After being mesmerized by the incredible wineries and vineyards we happened upon this lovely little gem. Sonoma Train Town looked like the perfect pit stop for the kids so we had to check it out. Well we left Roseville to make our way to Novato for the night. On our way we saw so many gorgeous wineries and vineyards….absolutely beautiful. We must go back when the grapes are in full season – I can only imagine the vineyards then!!! Not being wine/alcohol drinkers I have decided though that it would be awesome to be able to do a *grape juice tasting tour* – seriously, how fun!! And while we’re there, we wouldn’t mind moving in…
Our next stop was Roseville! It was another long day of driving, with kids that hardly slept AND another time change. We had just gone through one at home taking us an hour back and now just a couple weeks later were being pushed another hour back. So our lovely children were getting up at 6 AM instead of 8 am like we’re used to and hoping for. It was brutal! Add to that, being a bit overtired and over-travelled…
