This was originally intended for Friday, but Jonah had a birthday party to go to and our morning was spent getting groceries and birthday gifts. Saturday also involved a birthday party that resulted in a fun cousin sleepover {our house} with lots of playing and crafts.
So it became today’s *fun activity*
Come Together Kids is the original source for this GAK! project and Jonah and I were so excited to try it out.
Then you mix hot water with Borax to add to the glue.
The Borax portion of the directions was the strangest for me….a cup of hot water, 1 Tbsp of Borax until it dissolves, then 1/2 tsp increments until it won’t dissolve anymore. I’m more of a *give me a final amount* kind of person – it hould be the same each time if the water measurement is the same. Anyways, I added a bit too much water and I think, as a result, too little Borax and so it didn’t work as well for me.
Jonah wanted nothing to do with touching this mixture because it smelled so bad {the glue} so he became my photographer while I tried to get it finished.
It just didn’t quite work for us, and because of the strong glue smell {I know, what can you expect with a bottle of glue} is not something we’ll be trying again. But tons of people love this activity, so definitely try it. I’m curious to know what you think 🙂
