One thing I know from my accessory making days, is that boy items are LIMITED. There just isn’t that much out there for the little guys, so it’s especially fun to be able to make something *boyish*. Jonah’s been begging me for a shirt to match the pyjama bottoms I made him for Christmas, and this was the perfect opportunity. He is THRILLED! And he felt the need to present his jammie bottoms in a yoga pose. lol And a…
Well another sewing day is behind us. And another few projects are completed! Wanna see what we made? Here’s a rough version of the photos as I need to take better shots tomorrow, but nevertheless, here are the projects we did today: Just something small for Brooklyn since the remainder of my tshirt projects are for Jonah {oops}. I really love the simplicity of the sailboat and the fun of the contrasting colours. YAY – finally something for the boys.…
Brother DreamWeaver XE – Some Goodies #brothercanada #disney #makingmemories
If you are a follower on my Facebook page, you already know I have HUGE news! HA-UGE! Brother Canada contacted me a few weeks ago offering their new Dreamweaver XE {sewing, quilting, and embroidery machine} for review – I KNOW! – I nearly peed my pants too! I could not believe it and honestly squealed with delight for days. But also tried to reign in the excitement *just in case* it didn’t happen. And then the Purolator truck parked outside…
Gone are the days of this: Though let’s be honest – we all loved him! But seriously – this version of Geekie didn’t last long, nor was it *COOL*. We all loved Steve Urkel, but nobody really wanted to look like him {except maybe as Stefan? Oh come on, you were smitten}. Well, there’s a new Geekie in town and everyone’s gonna want it! I know I do – and my kids, LOVE their new shirts. In fact, Jonah giggles…
In the next few weeks I will be taking on another large sewing project….this time another quilt. But not like the memory quilt I made my mother in law, a quilted quilt…..lol And I am so excited! I toyed around with the idea of making one for our bed, but the truth is, I am SO undecided on what our colour scheme will be and what I want the overall look to be, I think the planning would be more…
The mere idea of my kids in a wave pool takes my anxiety to new heights. So when a friend suggested we take the kids over Christmas holidays I had to force myself to be the *fun mom* and try it out. Why, you may ask? I’m certain it all stems from when I was a kid….I’m short and not a stellar swimmer….and if I was a wee bit too deep when the waves started, I wasn’t able to touch.…
Well, not only did we end 2012 with a buttload of FUN – Our December was Amazing! – we also started 2013 with the same sort of focus. Making Memories And we’ve had a BLAST! We started out by taking one more stab {pun intended} at ice fishing, we made a plan for us and 2 other friends and their families to spend the day at the lake {doesn’t mean the same thing when you say it in the winter…
Who Does That? #hugeblessings #payitforward #makingmemories
Well folks, the time has come. The Squealy truck has met its maker….gone to the heavens with other death trap vehicles. A few weeks ago, while at McDonald’s with a friend so our kids could run crazy in the germ-infested play place, Brent came running in on his lunch break saying the brakes seized on the truck. He’s so lucky it didn’t do that while I was driving. He took my vehicle {my friend has room for all of us},…
In the car the other day I noticed my lips were looking a little lack-lustre, so I reached for my lip gloss and that’s where it happened. My A-ha moment {Oprah style}! Remember how I couldn’t remember which product came in one of my Julep boxes? Well I totally know now….it was the lip gloss that I keep in my car! {which is why I couldn’t remember….I couldn’t find it lol and forgot I kept it in the vehicle}. Similar…
