My Month In Review {September}

I know, I know….my blogging has been less than regular this past month. I promise it has nothing to do with not wanting to – heaven knows I have a million blog posts floating in my head that need to be written. I really just had a super busy month – busier than normal for sure, and while I look back and wonder how I survived, the truth is I didn’t feel overwhelmed at all. #thankful

So much fun quadding

So just to give you an idea of what I had going on, here is a rundown of my month {pretend you care and read on, k?}:

The last week of August was spent at the condo in Whitefish #roughlife – and it couldn’t have been a more perfect way to end the summer. But, it was also the last of the rest {not the fun though….we always have fun}. We promptly headed out for a one night camping trip with a bunch of friends and it was perfect….then it was right to it:

Night before the first day of school

First week of September – the 2nd- 9th: I worked the 3rd and 4th. The 4th was also the kids first day of school, so thankfully my boss was awesome enough to let me start late and leave early so I could do drop off and pick up. That night our friends dropped off their two kids {4 1/2 and 2 1/2} so they could head to Hawaii {they had a lovely time, thanks for asking}. I had them that night and the 5th. The night of the 5th they went home to be watched by their auntie because I worked on the 6th. I picked them up afterwards and had them until the afternoon of the 9th. Also I had another friend’s young daughter {almost 3} 4 nights that week while she worked nightshift. She also stayed for two of the mornings 🙂 IN ADDITION, I had my respite client that weekend, though she is awesome to have and doesn’t add to my workload at all.

*phew*

Onto week #2 – the 10th-16th: I worked the 10th, Brent and I had Tuesday off and went for massages {someone’s gotta do it}. My mother in law came to stay, and after picking the kids up from school, Brent and I drove to Calgary for the PHENOMENAL Stone Temple Pilots concert. We stayed over at my aunt and uncle’s house and did some shopping on the 12th before coming home. I worked the 13th, 14th, and 15th.

Massages…oh sweet massages!

The third week- 17th-23rd: This week was much more low key *yay*. I had my friend’s little girl one afternoon while she had a training shift, and I worked the 20th, 21st, and 22nd. I also attended an Arbonne party and a friend’s 40th birthday party. I also baked my little tooshy off on the afternoon of the 23rd making carmel popcorn, golden graham s’more squares, and cake pops for a bake sale at work to help a coworker who is very ill.

After the concert!

And this past week – 24th-30th: Bake Sale! I worked the 24th, 25th, 27th, and 28th. The 27th was Brooklyn’s 8th birthday {post coming soon}, which also meant I was up on the 26th making cake pops for her class 🙂 AND picture day {crazy morning}. We went for dinner the 27th {Brooklyn chose Ihop} and I had a girls night to watch Grey’s Anatomy – which has pretty much ruined my life. So did Private Practice.

And we plan to lay low the rest of the weekend. I was supposed to have my friend’s little girl last night, but she had a mix-up with her shift. I do have her the afternoon of the 30th.

It’s been a busy month for sure, but so so fun. I love my job {post coming about that too}, and having a great friend so willing to watch my kids and help out has been a lifesaver {Thanks Tara!!!}. And of course my husband is an absolute star and is so helpful and has really gone out of his way to fill in the gaps #lovehim We have had a lot going on, and while I don’t necessarily want to be that busy ALL the time, I wouldn’t change a thing. It was pretty awesome!

So please forgive me for not blogging as often….and don’t judge me for not taking my kids to the Pumpkin Festival {today}….I want to just enjoy some downtime with the kids, and promise to make it up to you re: blogging! 🙂
