Do you remember my post last November where I discussed not having any shoes? I really didn’t….though luckily our winter was so incredible I was able to wear my flip flops most of the time. #solucky
But of course, every Canadian knows it won’t always be this way and I’m going to need to invest in some winter-appropriate footwear. In that post I discussed my fondness for some boots from a certain well known company. And I do love them, but did you know there is another company that makes similar {if not, arguably better} footwear? {I didn’t either}
You can read about the EMU Australia story and while I personally love learning the background of a company, the bottom line is these boots rock!
The delivery man may have chuckled at my enthusiasm when my new boots arrived – Stinger Hi in Aubergine {ARV $205}. I had honestly received the shipping notification earlier that morning, and as a result expected them to arrive at least a week later. I put them on right away and soaked up their comfiness {it’s a word right?}.
In truth, Aubergine would not be my colour of choice {basic black, grey, or brown would be for this particular item} but I honestly really love it. I kind of think it’s a great colour that will go with anything – and because I personally LOVE colour anyways, it suits me for sure.
When a friend of mine saw them last week she was completely impressed and made a comment about the quality of the soul – something I’ll be paying close attention to as the weather turns to fall/winter again in just a few months {waaaa}. These definitely come with a hefty price tag, so understandably you’d want to make sure they are long lasting quality – and more of an *investment* piece that will last for years. I can see already that these bring superior quality and comfortability to the world of *winter footwear* and, thus far, seem to prove their being worth the price.
In particular I love that they are waterproof – gone are the days of soaked feet in my old knock off’s {which promptly went into the trash as soon as these beauties arrived}. One thing to note is the sizing – apparently it’s better to order smaller in this style/brand of boot – which means I should have gotten a 6 instead of a 7…so they don’t fit perfectly {I’m not a true 7 but my somewhat wide feet make being a 6 nearly impossible and I didn’t want them to come too small}. But I’m still IN LOVE – the inside is so soft and comfortable, I love the colour, and the way they fit. And, while I’m in no way looking forward to cold, dismal weather, wearing my new EMU’s is definitely something to look forward to.
**Disclosure: Emu Australia was kind {and generous} enough to send me
a pair of boots at no cost to facilitate this review. I can honestly say that
all opinions are my own.**
